At&t Outrage

I have a business account with AT&T and had to see clients and this outrage caused me to miss money, late to client's homes, and unable to call my client's to inform them of my lateness.  This was a great inconvenience for my business.  I think all AT&T customers as well as business customers should be compensated somehow.   I know that you doesn't have control over the outrages but I was not able to call 911 because I had a client who needed help because she was unable to walk because of her condition and I couldn't call for help for. So AT&T please be mindful of your business customers who has been with you over 20 years.  Because of this incident,  I was thinking about switching my services.

Do you have business insurance to cover loss income? If yes, file a claim with the insurance company.

To my understanding only the commercial network was affected, the FirstNet for emergency responders was working unless someone knows differently.

In your opinion, what would be a fair compensation?

Service companies do not compensate people for any loss of business you might have had. You can contact AT&T and see about getting your bill adjusted for time without service only.

Realistically, AT&T isn’t going to sift through the claims of everyone who lost cell phone service for less than half a day and pay each person or business what they claim they lost.  With the number affected, no company can, much less would.  AT&T doesn’t even compensate people if they have a tower outage, so right or wrong, it’s unlikely that they are going to do anything here.  At best maybe a tiny credit on everyone’s bill.  Of course there is the legal option, and I’m sure lawyers all over the country are firing up the paperwork right now, but I think we all know the only people who are likely to get anything are the lawyers.

Not saying it’s OK, especially since the outage seems to be AT&T’s own fault, but I wouldn’t be holding my breath for a big payday from AT&T.  Do what you gotta do.

Thank you for responding.   I feel that a fair compensation is $100.00 but I will take $75.00.  Remember,  I could not download the wireless app and unable to call 911 for my client.  Again,  thank you for responding and look forward to hearing from you soon.

This is a customer based public forum. Not a way to reach AT&T. Nobody here is going to give you a credit.

And no one you call at AT&T is going to give you $75, much less $100.  When there is a power or water outage, do people get compensated for their losses or inconvenience?  Typically, they do not.  Unfortunately, things just happen in life.

Were you offered $75 or is that just an arbitrary number?
