Att service has been horrible since I switched from VZW

Att service has been horrible since I switched 2 years ago, along with out sourced customer service.

Living in Central New Jersey and 90% of the time I have 2 service bars in my phone.

I entertained switching with all the deals Att was offering . Almost none of the promotions offered was received, called Att many times to address service and promo issues, promised call backs were never received. My call were continuously transferred until I hung up.

I will be switching back to Verizon.

🤦🏼‍♀️.  It has always been 100% on us customers to select the service provider for cellular that works best for us..

You should have switched back to Verizon right away. That's why all service providers have a 14-day (or more) return window For equipment, so that if service isn't to your satisfaction you can switch back to your previous provider.

Apparently you didn't read the return policy, and switch back immediately.

Service quality is location based. Just because AT&T didn't work out for you in your location doesn't mean it's not the best network by far for someone else in a different location.

T-Mobile is still complete garbage in my town and I'm actually in a dead zone that gets no service from T-Mobile whatsoever. AT&T is the second best carrier and Verizon is the best. If I'm fool enough to switch to T-Mobile, I have no one but myself to blame for the lousy service If I stay for 3 years.

You honestly don’t know what service will be like in 14 days, 2 years ago if you remember we were all in the middle of Covid and not really going anywhere.

I’m ecstatic that ATT is working for you!

Thank you for your kind response.

3 years ago we were shut down because of the pandemic.

Two years ago everyone was back to work, vaccinated, and back to nearly normal lives.  In 2020 I was essentially unemployed. In 2021 I was doing double the work to cover for people who could not travel the year before, or had to work from home , and had those restrictions lifted. (I own a professional pet sitting and dog walking services business)

No matter when you switch you certainly would know whether or not service worked at home which for most people is the acid test.

You can pay off your phones, unlock them and switch back now.

You can check Verizon's IMEI for BYOD to see if your phones will work on their network.

I’m not sure why you have time to be a know it all and harass anyone on this forum.

I stated Att wireless service was horrible. That’s my experience in the middle of a pandemic 2021. Were had to be vaccinated to be allowed to start entering restaurants and venues. I’m not sure if you recall. You stated TMobile was horrible even though they have been declared the 2nd best coverage. But you own your experience.

Thought i would share this accury info from google so you can get you fact straight since my Covid timeline was so important to YOU.

When did COVID peak?
The largest peak in hospitalizations occurred in December 2020 and January 2021, aligning with the largest peak in reported case rates [28]. Our approach to estimating the burden of COVID-19 hospitalization using long-term surveillance data has several benefits.
As I said I switch 2 years ago. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do the math 23-21= 2
Please learn to be more kind to people and stop the harassment ♥️

I own my experience with Att,as you with  TMobile. TMobile is the second best service but I’m not here harrassing you.

Learn to be more kind to people. Stop the harassment. People are on here sharing good and bad experiences.

I will not give this conversation with you anymore energy. I’m sorry this is the way you start your day.

Praying you have an wonderful day!

HananTorres, I hope you feel you got some moral victory in your post.  You actually proved that the largest peak was over by two years ago (April 2021 if I use all my fingers and toes).

The actual issue is that the carriers have different towers in different places based on the frequencies they bought at auction and the money they're willing to spend to place towers in certain areas.  Even during a pandemic, you can drive around and see if you get decent coverage in your area from a carrier.  Hopefully you'll do that the next time you're contemplating a carrier switch.  In fact, you might want to see if VZW still has good coverage; the switch to 5G has meant a lot of changes for all of them.

@HananTorres

Maybe the place where you live didn't handle the pandemic very well?   We certainly took a lot of spillover from New York in early days.

I live in northern Connecticut.  The covid shut down in Connecticut was from March to June of 2020.  By June of 2020 we were allowed to go anywhere we pleased, mostly had to be masked in public.

By march of 2021, a full year after the COVID shutdown began, we were fully able to move around whether or not we were vaccinated.  Very few venues did still ask that we wear a mask.  Medical facilities like the nursing homes, still do.

People were traveling, people were going back to work in their offices and I was doubly busy.

I am not an AT&T customer now. I switched to Verizon in August of 2019 because they have slightly better coverage than AT&T does in my area.

I switched from Verizon to AT&T in 2014 so that I could cut my bill way down.  At that time I moved one of my phones from Verizon to AT&T to test the network.  It worked well enough in the areas that I commonly visited around town to decide to move over the other five lines and add two tablets.

In 2014 I was no more educated than anyone else about how this all worked, but I did know that we didn't want to be without cellular service and I did not know whether AT&T was a good enough service provider, so I tested it, Knowing the return window for any phone that I purchased, and knowing that I would have to eat some cost if I switch back to Verizon.  All of that information was easily acquired online.

As @JefferMC  mentioned 5g is an issue.  Sometimes it means data is far slower than it ever was on LTE. And on a few occasions it meant my phone disconnected entirely from the network 🚫.  Turning on airplane mode and then turning it off again allowed it to reconnect..  But I've seen some of the exact same complaints from people using AT&T.

Just because Verizon is better than AT&T in certain areas doesn’t mean that there aren’t other areas where AT&T is better than Verizon.  There are.  That’s just how cell coverage is.  People need to chose the carrier that works best in the area they use it most in.

You had 14 days to return any equipments or merchandise that you purchased and port your number back to your previous service provider.

It is 100% on customers to select a provider that works for them. No service provider can provide service everywhere
