Beware of IHX Yesmary in San Diego: Not a Real Account Manager - Harassment and Unprofessionalism

We have been facing internet issues for a week, leading to a technician's visit being hindered by the inability to access a crucial room due to a missing key from our leasing office. This led to the involvement of an "Account Manager," Yesmary, who, instead of assisting, attempted to sell us phones and a new internet plan, and was exceedingly rude to my wife. Today, despite not being invited, she claimed to have arrived early to discuss key access with the leasing management, yet our technician confirmed no communication with her, highlighting her focus on selling phones under the guise of an "Account Manager." Beware: it was revealed that Yesmary's role, falsely presented as an "Account Manager," is actually based on commission for selling phones and AT&T services to new internet customers without an AT&T number, leading to unannounced visits aimed at making sales. Beware of her showing up at your house unannounced to make a sale. Has anyone else experienced harassment by an IHX representative when signing up for AT&T internet?

The people like this one that you speak of are usually independent contractors, much like authorized retailers that sell AT&T goods and services.  As they are not internet installers, nor do they work for the apartment buildings leasing office, they would have no access to the locked area (went through the exact same thing when my son was renting in Massachusetts)

Some of them are honest, unfortunately some are not. There are some benefits to having both internet and cellular service with one service provider.   All of those benefits are published publicly on AT&T's website.

For example currently AT&T internet customers who switch and add AT&T wireless service get $20 off of their internet service.

AT&T's offer for service and phone promotions are also public offers which can be read on their website. The cost of service and phones can be calculated with the exception of federal state local taxes, the admin fee is $1.95 per line. So usually can be ball parked within 2 to $5 of actual cost.

Conditions requirements and timeline for AT&T's phone trade-in promotions are well published on the website on the sales page for the phones. Clicking on the link that says see offer details shows all of the fine print.

Sure, but most IHX sales associates are unfortunately very dishonest and unprofessional, similar to the one we encountered. We are quite happy with our current cellular service and plan, and for us, the benefits of consolidating all services under one umbrella do not outweigh the hassle of consolidating our accounts just so a sales representative can meet their monthly quota. Additionally, because of this experience, we are considering moving away from AT&T. The $20 that we're saving each month is insignificant in the long term for us.
