Calls from known numbers that aren't the person

Twice now over the last few weeks I've had calls from known numbers, that I know were the actual people showing up in my caller ID calling me, but the audio is not connected to that person. The first time, it was a verification call for a sign-in, an automated call that I get every day through work, and instead of the usual automated message, it was like I was listening to a conversation. I was still able to hit the right key to verify on my phone and it worked, so like I was still somehow connected to the verification system just not hearing the right audio. The second time, yesterday, a friend called and left a message (I verified that it was in fact her and she did leave a message) but the message is not her, once again it's like I'm listening to someone else's conversation. This doesn't appear to be phone spoofing because both times the call was confirmed to be coming from a known source. For whatever reason, the audio was just not correct. Does anyone know what this is or what could be causing it?

Are you saying it is the person's message but like it is replaced with a different voice or you are getting someone else's voicemails?

Replaced with a different voice.  With the voicemail I got last night I actually reached out to my friend to see if her phone had been stolen because it sounded like I had been butt-dialed by someone. The whole minute+ message just sounds like I walked into someone’s conversation. My friend confirmed that she called and left me a voicemail, and that’s what my phone is showing me as far as who called and left a message, but the audio and transcript of the audio is not her.
