How r u people still in business

I live in Stafford VA and travel up and down to DC, and to Chantilly Fairfax VA every day of the week. I made the mistake of changing from T-Mobile to at&t because the phone and Internet connectivity was very poor for T-Mobile at home in Stafford but very good everywhere else. Some guys at Costco enticed me and I fell for this lousy at&t lines free offer which actually cost me a lot and all those charges were told to me only after the disconnected my Tmobile connections. The useless AT&T people gave me three phone lines but did not add my Apple watch connection and now I have a stupid dead connection with T-Mobile for my watch while all 3 phones are with lousy at&t.

THERE IS NO CONNECTIVITY at home, outside in urban areas  in the city, on the road or anywhere. The internet or data connection is worse and I cannot watch videos, can't do Whatsapp calls anywhere. Their customer service is worse. Worst fevking mistake

I'm looking to move to Xfinity or Verizon but have to pay for two new phones now. Lost a lot of money for this nonsense

You have 14 days to try the service. That’s more than enough time to see if it works in your area.

All three major networks have a way that you can try their service for free with a throwaway number. Since you didn't avail yourself, you're only option is to return equipment within 14 days, pay the restock fee, and port your numbers

AT&T has the largest, most widespread network in the United States. Thanks to FirstNet, and first responder network that is government subsidized, AT&T will not miss the few who are in areas of poor service.

I complained and i went thru horrible customer service thats the worst Ive seen in any provider. unfortunately, its been two months now and over the 14 days. I dont think there is any network this bad. imagine 2kbps, or 0 kbps or 4 kbps data throughout in any location urban or on the roads.. we dont have any rural location where I live or travel

is there any way I can escalate it?

Also how is Xfinity? my friend said if I take their Wifi and mobile offers, overall its cheaper and better connectivity.

If Xfinity is not that good, then Im planning to go for verizon or maybe Tmobile. I lost money changing to AT&T and will never go back.

Escalate what?  Better service?  You can call and talk to them all you want, but they aren’t going to improve service.  You can pay off your devices and port your number to a different provider that works better in your area.  If you’re expecting them to forgive hundreds or thousands of dollars in device installments and just let you go, that’s probably not going to happen.  You can try filing a BBB complaint to get it escalated to upper management, but don’t be surprised if they tell you that you had 14 days to figure out that AT&T wasn’t working for you.

BTW, Xfinity uses Verizon.

Exactly what are you wanting to escalate?

You are either within a coverage area because there are towers close enough, or you are not. It's not like AT&t is going to be able to put up a tower just for you. They have to have land, build a tower, and permission from the FCC. That can take a decade. That's certainly not going to solve your problem before your phones are paid off.

Also how is Xfinity?

Xfinity runs on Verizon.

I (distinctly) remember writing something earlier ⤴️ about having the opportunity to try other networks for free?  Maybe you should do that before you throw more money out the window?  There are only three major carriers. AT&t, Verizon and T-Mobile.  Internet service providers like Cox, spectrum, optimum, and Xfinity all offer mobile through Verizon. Who was your service provider before you switch to AT&t?  Ummm?

I lost money changing to AT&T and will never go back.

Just pay off your phones, unlock them, they are locked.  Then you can take advantage of using them on another Network. Some of them have an offer if you bring your own device

I used T mobile later and I was satisfied, except that I did not have network at home and that neighborhood and had to rely on my wifi.. that was frustrating.

Everywhere else Tmobile was excellent.. so when the AT&T offer was made at costco, I thought am upgrading my phones too so maybe its a better network and fell into that trap. what they advertized as free turned out to be a lot of fees for activation, taxes and a host of other money.

AND then I found that NOWHERE the network was good on any of my phones. On the road from stafford to DC or Stafford to Dulles airport or anywhere in philadelphia or NJ or Tennessee where ever I went, it was poor.. Data was ridiculously slow at 2-4kbps. I have the starter unlimited which they gave by default when they ported me to AT&T. Scammed was the word.

Am now willing to take up an offer with Verizon if they come up with it and will port it even if it costs me money. am sick of AT&T

If only I had read online reviews before I fell for this scam by AT&T

Dude we can keep saying it's not a scam and you're going to keep writing that it is. No, it's not. All of the information on fees, including how the first bill is structured, activation, how the installments work, how Bill credits against the installments work, it's all published somewhere. It would have all been published on the things you signed when you switched.

If you use T-Mobile before and they mostly worked good for you, they have an offer to switch. But you have to pay off and unlock your phones from AT&t first. Talk to them

Porting customers over to your pathetic network that gives me 2kbps connection is a SCAM. nothing but a scam. Calls to my mobiles mostly goes unanswered because I dont get it. thats how bad this is. Im affected professionally because of this.

Will go to an AT&T store and see what I can do, else walk up to a Verizon store and port it over. I will ensure I post my experience over all the forums. Already there are many many people saying the same thing about AT&T. They should have closed down long ago with the kind of employees they have..I wont blame them as they are forced to support a company that treats its customers like suckers

How did you not notice this during the 14 day return period?  Did you buy the phones elsewhere and not start having problems until you moved?

Just to save time, what do you expect going into an AT&T store to do for you?  They are only sales people.  They can’t fix service or do anything about your bills.  As you noted, people have been complaining about AT&T on these forums as well as on other social media.  It’s been going on for many years in fact, and people don’t seem to check out all the information available before jumping in.  My point is, threatening to post on a bunch of forums isn’t likely to do anything.  Hopefully Verizon will work out better for you.
