Los Angeles Wireless Coverage - Subway System

Verizon has provided coverage for the Los Angeles subway system (Red and Purple Lines) for over a year.  When can we expect ATT to provide coverage?

Hi @robgeeking,

Thank you for posting about this on the Community Forums! I am happy to look into this for you!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are always looking to expand our coverage. We do not currently have an exact time when the Los Angeles subway system will be covered. I apologize for any inconvenience that may arise from this.

Have a fantastic rest of your day!

It is better do at&t to act fast before it's customer switch to other carriers.

It is also a safety concern. A few months ago, I was not able to make calls to anyone when the train stopped between stations for about 10-20 minutes. If necessary, can I make an emergency call (911) when I'm on the Red/Purple Lines?

FYI, I take Metro Red/Purple Lines between 7th St. and Union Station everyday.

It is a safety concern. The Red Line has some shifty people on it. AT&T prides itself on having the best network, but it’s falling behind in downtown LA. I work in the Financial District, right off the 7th and Fig RedLine station. The reception is terrible. I’m considering switching to Verizon when new iPhone comes out later this year.

You realize the the subway system could have a agreement to only let verizon do that right?  Happens all the time its sad to say.

I’m guessing they caved in because this past weekend taking the Red/Purple Line to 7th Street Metro, I almost fell out my seat, I had 4 to 5 bars of AT&T LTE. I thought I was dreaming. Thank goodness! Finally!

So did they finish installing atnt service? I have an atnt iPhone running on cricket and I’ve been attacked multiple times on the subways we need this service. The train personal don’t watch the security cameras inside the trains and the cops don’t give a hoot. PLEASE GET CELL SERVICE ITS A SFETY RISK IF WE DKNT HAVE IT!!
