Loud Cell Tower Sound

This week a cell tower behind Meadowlands neighborhood in Justin, TX off of FM407 began to emit an ear piercing high pitched sound 24 hours a day. Who would we contact to report this?

This has been fixed it was a Generac generator alarm at the site. I drove to the tower and got the property management company info off of a sign on the fence. They had a tech sent by.

Hello @JustinTXCellTowerAngst,

We hear you and would like to help you.

In response to your concern we recommend reporting the issue with the cell tower emitting the high-pitched sound to the relevant authorities. Here are a couple of options:

  1. Local Authorities: You can start by contacting your local city or town government. They may have a department responsible for handling noise complaints or issues related to infrastructure like cell towers. Explain the situation and provide them with the location details (Meadowlands neighborhood in Justin, TX off FM407).

  2. Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT): Since FM407 is a state highway, you can also reach out to TxDOT. They oversee roadways and infrastructure projects in Texas. They might be able to direct you to the appropriate agency or take action themselves.

Remember to provide specific details about the location, including the address or coordinates, to help them investigate the issue effectively.

We hope this information helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you,

Jessica, AT&T Community Specialist.

Failing those two paths (which sound pretty good), you can search the online local property ownership/tax records for the tower location and find out who actually owns the tower (which is likely not AT&T or any other carrier directly; typically another company owns the tower and the carriers lease space) and see if you can contact them; they could ask their tenants to check on it or try to figure out which of them it might be.
