No network connection
Hi - landed in Germany this morning where I had perfect connection. Drove to Austria in the afternoon and since then, my iPhone cannot find a network. Do you know what is going on? I bought the International Travel add-on for internet access.
Would be much appreciated as I am currently clueless. Tried turning my phone on / off several times and the latest software is installed.

If you are prepaid there is no coverage in Austria. Link below has coverage for both postpaid and prepaid.

I learned something new.
Did not realize AT&T offers international travel add-on for prepaid.

Hello there!
We understand how important it is to stay connected while traveling abroad, so let's get the information you're looking for.
In response to your question, international travel add-on is only available in a few countries, and Austria does not offer prepaid coverage.
Here's the link to check out more information about the International travel add-on: https://www.att.com/prepaid/static-pages/intl-travel-add-on/#a
Furthermore, we recommend you to check the wireless network coverage for more information.
Let us know if the above information helps!

we gladly pay AT&T $10 (+ $5 second, third, etc.) line for full service.
Note I also have Verizon which gives one free International TravelPass per month of billing...
but it's limited to 2GB/data a day.

@lindros99 Verizon phones become unlocked after 60 days. Use a local SIM or international SIM (Holafly/Airal) for data that is less expensive. This is what I do when I travel. There are apps for keeping in touch back to the US including Wi-Fi calling. I have AT&T IDP as a backup and have never used it so far.

@Fl_retire All of my phones are purchased outright/unlocked - I use dual-SIM active (plus others inactive).
I found that international SIM's are too much trouble; prefer my own USA-based ones.

I will say that so long as you have data, you really don't need anything else. Calling has fallen by the wayside.
