Our coverage in Frisco is horrid (Zip: 75033) - Coverage map doesn't mean anything - Density issue

We moved to Frisco 6 months ago and against our better judgement (others had told us AT&T in Frisco is poor) we stuck with AT&T. This is a very prominent area and AT&T has a horrible reputation for true coverage. Everyone up here on AT&T suffers from poor coverage especially around the Legacy & Eldorado parkway (75033 & 75034) area. Hundreds of people have reported it, but no matter. 75036 is bad too. Describe bad as literally apps on phone will not connect and browser spins for long periods.

We have 4 new 5G phones and four other devices on AT&T with unlimited plans and I went in to the AT&T store and they told me it was an issue of not enough towers and too many eligible devices on the area network. The went on to say it was a known data service issue, but no plans they knew of to rectify anytime soon. We would have to live with it.  Rude and not caring at all. Reporting on their app does nothing either. Waste of time!

It is reported all over the Internet too about AT&T customer service always falling back on the ridiculous (it is because they know it is a redirect) coverage map answer. Many people have told us AT&T is a great slower and worse than Verizon up here.  We are already talking to Verizon about moving all of our devices to them. Sad, as we have been with AT&T for 14 years. Going to share with our community on Facebook, Instagram as well given it is negatively impact our neighbor's daily lives.

AT&T needs to rectify this issue, as it is negatively affecting their brand in Frisco, even the employees at their stores know it.

Coverage maps only indicate how far a signal can be detected, not the usability of the signal. All carriers do this to sell product. Environmental factors (buildings new and old), tower placement and signal strength as dictated by the FCC, tower saturation, etc all play a factor in how usable the signal is. And, there are always going to be dead spots with any carrier.

We never get more than one bar (We are not open to paying for less than optimal service) on our devices in this 75033 & 75034 areas and literally no or little data service. Bars do matter or they wouldn't be there. That is an excuse they use. The data is less than an old modem.

When we were at the AT&T store they swapped the SEIM, but it did nothing. It is like this on all eight devices and our neighbor's too.

It’s up to you to find the provider that suits your needs. If you’re in an area where you’re not getting coverage change to a provider who better services the area. You’ve been told there are no plans to rectify it so if you choose to stay then not getting service is on you.

We understand the importance of needing good signal on your device @FriscoFamily.

Upon looking at the 75033 area, there is not very many towers covering that area. When in this area we suggest that you use Wi-Fi Calling whenever you have access to a Wi-Fi connection.

In the 75034 area, there are known downed towers that we are working diligently to get back up and running.

Please note that we are improving our network and shutting down our 3G network to upgrade to 5G. This can have a impact on the quality of signal in your area.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our network. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Good luck!  The only thing AT&T will understand is when they loose enough business that it hurts them, so as Frisco grows, they never hurt enough!  AT&T, service, customer support, technical support, and overall company governance is HORRIBLE.  I will be changing my service because no one at AT&T cares about their customers.  They are the definition of a company who it too big and does not care.  Good luck, suggest you move on!

I don't have the ability to change providers (my phone is paid by my employer) so I do need to know why a company headquartered in Dallas is somehow not prepared for North Texas' growth and what will be done to fix it. Zip: 75068, 75034

it's 9/27/23 and nothing has changed (maybe worse). I think paying a little with another provider for better service is where we are now.

@idk24 Problem is that Verizon is just as bad in this area.  (I'm at Main and Legacy 75034)

I just can't believe in this city of Frisco, TX it is supposed to a high tech city, there are several company HQ here, and the cell service is garbage!  It's gives AT&T such a bad reputation!  Dallas is AT&T HQ and I don't understand how they can let this go on right under their nose!  :(

I live off of Main St and Legacy Pkwy for god's sake!!!  I should have amazing signal!
