Tower Out Since May 30th

Over two weeks of 5g being completely out on the tower in my area. Att seems to be doing absolutely nothing about it. The worst part? 4g is working however on any Android devices AT&t's carrier services have it locked where you cannot change the bands at all and they've pushed updates to fix any work around you possibly could use to change the band to 4G. Why don't they just turn off the 5G band? That way the phone will automatically switch to 4G? We may never know. I've spoken to six different reps advanced tech support regular tech support billing and everything with nothing happening. This tower supports thousands of people as well. you would think AT&t would be more on top of it.

You are right this is frustrating, the way we reported issues is now retired. Att addresses degraded towers systematically from what I can tell.

Hope you get your services back soon.

It's important to note because I'm on an Android I'm unable to switch the bands meaning that my data does not work at all. So this isn't like a minor inconvenience of speed this is nothing I have absolutely no data because of it.

For samsung go to

Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Modes

This allows you to customize which band the phone uses. =]

If that actually worked that would be pretty cool. However as I've explicitly stated that is not an option due to AT&t's service policies. There is no way to change your band on an Android / Samsung device due to AT&t's restrictions.

Trust me I've tried. I've tried back end apps I've tried going into the secret menu and changing the band selection there I've also tried just going into the actual settings and changing it it's all grayed out and fully restricted. I've tried on an s24 ultra I've tried on a Galaxy fold 5 and I've tried on an S9 FE. However on my iPhone 14 pro Max you can change it because Apple has it to where AT&t can't change those abilities.

No, you're perfectly fine you don't need to apologize. AT&t is the ones that needs to apologize. The option is there which makes it even more aggravating it's just grayed out to where you can't change it. And AT&t has went through a great deal to hide the fact that they're the reason this happens. I've spent over 12 hours on the phone with them for the past few weeks.
