Car mode in lollipop?

Will car mode be restored when the galaxy s5 is updated with lollipop? It is a very useful function that worked wonderfully on my old s3. I just recently upgraded to the s5 to find out that it is missing a function that my old phone did perfectly well. At this point it is more of a hinderance for me to take my eyes off the road to find the speakerphone button than to just have the phone set to car mode and shift directly into speakerphone mode with a wave of my hand. Please correct this mistake. By removing this function you have done far more harm than good by thinking people would rather ignore their phones using your drive mode app instead of simply using the built in hand wave answer function and the built in car mode function. Thank you for your time and response in this matter.

I have been a ATT customer for 20 years but have to say Im annoyed with them lately.  I had a Nokia Lumia Windows phone until Nov 2014 when I upgraded my phone to Samsung Galaxy 5.  With the Nokia phone my car would read me my text messages and ask If I wanted to reply (not a canned reply but a dictated text message)   This was totally hands free, I never had to take my eyes off the road or my hands off the wheel.   Now with the SG5 and ATT removing Car Mode, Ive lost this functionality and it really makes me mad that I've read ATT did this.  I agree this is NOT safer to me or all of us... because the tendency is there to reach out and look at the  phone and touch it while driving.  If they had just left the handsfree feature of Car Mode active we'd all be much safer.   Ive gone to ATT tech centers and they  know nothing about ATT removing the feature (or say they know nothing) I only can find it on line in android and other forums.  I've called their customer service and also get no where.   So there is no way to even complain to anyone who is in any position in ATT to look at this dumb decision on their part.  Also I see there was a update to 4.4.4 released about 4 days ago, and I still haven't received it...not that it would fix this problem.   Very frustrating..... rethinking my 20 year decision to stick with ATT.

If your in an accident and sent a text is a state that has a no text while driving law when they get your phone records and see you sent  a text around the crash time your going to get charged.  Its happened here in the last 3 months.

I think what you are seeing is the companys covering there backsides.   I dont know if this was removed because of that but the NOTE 4 does not have car mode either.

Do you have "hands free" mode?

I have the Note 3, still running 4.4.2. The car or drive mode went away with a previous update, but was replaced with "hands free" with a steering wheel icon in notification bar. It automatically turns on GPS and speaker phone and I can wake the phone by saying "hi Galaxy" and potentially do speach to text. I don't, but I would use to make a call if needed.

I refuse to use carrier, paid apps, when my phone came with the function for free.
