International Travel with an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4
I will be traveling to the United Kingdom (England, Scotland) and the AT&T Passport Plan site says the following:
- Determine if your wireless device will operate in the country you are visiting. Tip: To ensure the broadest coverage, a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900) device is recommended.
Does my phone have these bands?
What is the most efficient way to send text messages? Do I need to turn off roaming and adjust any other settings?
I also see on the site that LTE is supported only at airports with the following. Do I need to be concerned with this?
- Everything Everywhere, Ltd.
Bands 3, 7 - Vodafone UK
Bands 7, 20

You can call and text, please know the per use charges so there is no surprise later.
Call before you leave to confirm the passport plan is on your line, so there won't be unpleasant surprises when you get home.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip.
