s5 software update notifcations

Over the past few weeks I've received notifications to update my software several times a day. I've tried it a couple times and the installation always fails. After reading some of the other posts about this, it looks like I have the most recent software update. How do I turn off the software update notifications?

Hello! @katej80 Thanks for posting your update questions.

To attempt to clear the update message you receive, please go to apps from the main display then select the app info tab at the top and if it allows you to do so, uncheck Show Notifications. If this does not clear it, I would recommend you back the phone up and factory reset it to clear that.

Hope this helps!

Is there any other way to disable this without the factory reset? After my last post I removed the battery and Sim card before restarting my phone and the notifications stopped until yesterday. Today the update tried to download and install without me even hitting the button to approve the update. I really would like to disable the app but all of the options to do this in the app manager are grayed out and I can't select anything. Is there another way to disable it?
