Billing

I cancelled my subscription in early April. The 11th I think. But, my auto pay just paid you $217.40 for the month of April. I returned your equipment over 2 weeks ago. But, yet you are still billing me? That is called stealing. Please refund my money. I now have an open case #129305810. Can someone please look into this and explain to me how this happened. And how you can justify this as right.

Would you please look at your bill and find what are the dates of service are (on my bill, to the right of each service title it gives a range of date, e.g. "Feb 27 - Mar 26."  On the same bill with "Feb 27 - Mar 26" it says "AutoPay of $ is scheduled for
Mar 21, 2023".  AT&T does not prorate the last month of service, so the cycle including 11 April must be paid in full.

FTR, the 11th of the month is hardly "early", it's more like "mid."

My billing starts on the 5th of the month. So, the 11th is early. More like very early. It's ridiculous I'm paying for a service that I'm not receiving. It's 2023. My bill should have stopped the day I called to cancel. No wonder Directv is dying. When they rip off people like this.

If you are truly talking about a DIRECTV bill, you're on the wrong forum.  DIRECTV moved out when the company was spun off from AT&T into a separate (partially-owned) entity.  Please see their forums here:

Here are the RETURN INSTURCTIONS THAT WAS EMAILED TO ME THAT YOU REFERRED TO.  THEY WERE EMAILED TO ME BY AT&T NOT DIRCT TV STREAM.  These are only for instructions I received. NOT from Direct TV stream, I was never provided anything for Direct TV stream.  I CANCELLED THE SERVICE WITH AT&T AND DIRECTTV STREAM KEEPS CHARGING ME AND SAID I DIDNT RETURN THE EQUIPMENT BUT I HAVE PROOF IT WAS RETURNED TO AT&T U-VERSE DIRECTIONS.  I DID NOT SIGN UP WITH DIRECT TV. AND NOW DIRECT IS TELLING ME THEY ARE 2 SEPARATE COMPANIES NOW AND I SHOULD HAVE SENT THE EQUPMENT TO THEM.  THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR AND AT&T SENT ME THE PAID LABLE AND THE BOX TO RETURN IT.   why am I getting this email from AT&T in reference to returning my equipment? and proof it says to return the equipment in the same package as the internet equipment. 2 separate emails from AT&T with he same account number for 2 different sets of equipment and one shipping label. And the 2nd one is proof it was received by the date they said. So I shouldn’t have to pay for equipment that was returned.

SEE BELOW……   I WILL BE REPORTING THIS TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. AND I WILL LEAVE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON ALL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS THAT I CAN.  WORST COMPANY EVER.  I DROPPED THE SERVICE AFTER A WEEK BECAUSE THEY COULDNT GET THE INTERNET SPEED ABOVE 10 WHEN I WAS PAYING FOR 500.  AND I HAD TO PAY THE INSTALLATION FOR THERE FALSE ADVERTISING AND LACK OF PERFORMANCE.  NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR EQUIPMENT THAT WAS RETURNED TO A COMPANY I DID NOT SET UP.  BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.

Look, if you ever subscribed to AT&T TV (at least 20 months ago now), it was spun off to DIRECTV and renamed DIRECTV stream.  The DIRECTV stream set top boxes are not leased and do not have to be returned.  So, I really have no idea what the heck you're talking about WRT DIRECTV stream asking you for money for unreturned equipment as YOU CAN'T HAVE unreturned DIRECTV Stream equipment.  You either buy it out right, or under an installment agreement and its yours.  If you end service early, you still "get to" keep it and pay off the balance... no choice about that.

The notices above appear to be for your AT&T Internet Gateway which you did apparently return.
