Cancel u-verse internet

Hello everyone!

I keep hearing conflicting information on a matter of canceling a service. I am currently on u-verse internet 50mbps, u-verse TV U300, and phone land line. I was told by a technician that if I decided to cancel the u-verse internet I would lose the TV U300. Dose anyone know if this is true? I am pretty happy with the tv service and was not looking to change it. I am however looking to change the internet and land line service over to spectrum due to lower price and way better speed. Doesn’t anyone have any info on this? Thanks for the help!

You can cancel AT&T Internet and still keep U-verse TV.  However, be aware of these restrictions:

1) You still have to keep the Gateway and all the existing wiring in place for the U-verse TV to continue working.  Even though you will no longer be able to route Internet traffic through the Gateway to the AT&T network, the IPTV traffic will still go through there.  So, you cannot reuse this cabling for your other Internet service (though you now can share it with AT&T's Internet traffic).

2) You may lose access to some features, e.g. the Music channels, that require AT&T Internet.
