Since new subscribers haven't been allowed for 4 years now, any 2 year commitment you may have made has long expired. As long as you return your equipment, there shouldn't be any huge fees. Note, however, that if you have a package discount on your Internet service for having TV, then the discount will go away so the price on Internet service may got up a bit each month. Also note that if you have Internet service with a speed of less than 100 Mbps, then you'll also have to start watching the 1,500 GB/month data usage cap (or pay an overage fee). That cap is waived as long as you have TV service.
