Cancelling Uverse TV, what impact on other bundled services

We have Uverse TV, Fiber internet, and 5 cell phones with ATT.  Will cancelling Uverse TV affect the other unlimited services or limit data on the current plan?

Uverse TV is almost $200 monthly and it has become cost prohibitive.

Thank you.

Hey @McIrish. Thanks for reaching out to us about your U-verse TV questions, and we'll be happy to help you.

Cancelling your U-verse TV will not affect your other unlimited services or limit data on your current plan. If the services are bundled together, it could affect the price of your Fiber internet service if it's been within 12 months since you've signed up for the service. If it's been more than 12 months since you've signed up for your TV and Fiber internet service, then it won't affect the prices.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

you won't lose any discounts if you cancel the uverse tv and neither will that impact any other service you have.

I would like to know how to cancel my u-U-verse t.v.  Pay 200.00 a month for this service is overrated. The wind blows and U-Verse doesn’t work. I tried to call customer service but they aren’t open. Will I lose my internet serves or my discounts? Having U-Verse I’ve lost several stations which they are no longer available. I don’t feel that it’s fair that we pay for services we don’t have access to. Paying 200.00 for cable T.V. Is totally ridiculous.

If your service is bundled, cancelling one part of the bundle will result is losing any discounts due to the bundle.

Most often this is a $10 or $20 discount off of internet … cancel the tv portion the internet pricing returns to standard… looking at your monthly bill should display any discount(s) receiving.

Your be saving more money cancelling IPTV than the increased cost of the internet.

4. Pricing

a. Term Plans, Bundle Discounts.

When you purchased the Service, you agreed to specific price and plan, which may have included a term for the Service of one or more years ("Term Plan"). Similarly, some plans may offer a discount on the Service if you sign up for other AT&T services ("Bundle Discount"). You agree to maintain your Service and any bundled services for the applicable term of the Term Plan or Bundle Discount, as applicable. If you signed up for a Term Plan or a Bundle Discount, the price under the applicable plans is valid until one of the following events occurs, at which time the price of your Service may revert to the then-existing price for such Service: (1) the term of your plan expires; (2) you change your current Service address to another Service address; (3) you drop one of the AT&T services that you were required to purchase to receive the special rate; or (4) AT&T exercises a right under this Agreement to terminate your Member Account's (or any associated Sub Account's or Authorized User's) use of the Service.

Since you have FTTP, then your data allowance is unlimited.  If you had FTTN/VDSL2, then your U-verse TV would eliminate the data allowance for VDSL2 Internet.

As said above, your bill will show if you have any package discounts on Internet due to also having U-verse TV.  Even if so, cancelling U-verse TV would still save you money over not cancelling it.
