Cancelling U-verse

If I cancel U-verse TV and keep internet, will I still have to pay early termination fee? August will be the end of so called promoting. I was quoted a price when it started and has went up twice since.

Uverse IPTV used to have a 12 month contract with early termination fee of $189 pro rated $15 per month.

The company stopped offering new customers Uverse IPTV March 2020, over 3 years ago. There should be no ETF.

Now if you have the streaming service, depending on when you ordered, there was a 24 month (2 year) contract with ETF of $360, again $15 per month prorated. DirecTv satellite service was 2 year contract with $480 ETF pro rated $20 per month.

I'll use me as an example:

I'm in a $30/mo discount. Note that this is a discount and NOT a guaranteed price. My rates go up a few bucks every year because I'm not in a guaranteed price.

There is a difference.

U-Verse typically had guaranteed prices for new customers only. As said, U-Verse stopped taking new customers a few years ago.

Likewise, if the customer is promised free HBO, U-450 upgrade or whatever else for a short period of time, the upgraded channels will not turn themselves off. It's always been up to the customer to cancel the upgrade or re-negotiate. This is the case across almost every subscription service.

Personally, I use my phone's calendar and make a note on the date the promotions end.
