Incorrect Billing sent to Collections

Why would AT&T not cancel my service when I moved and called, and signed up for DirecTV since U-Verse was not offered?  AT&T then continued to bill me, but gave me a credit for one month.  Then they charged me an early termination fee and took my money since I was enrolled in autopay.  I cancelled autopay only to receive another bill for $90 and change.  I have called on at least four occasions only to be told they will take care of it.  The final straw was this morning receiving a call from a collection agency to collect the incorrectly (fraudulently) charged fees.  AT&T is the one that owes me money not to mention all of my time spent trying to correct AT&Ts error.  This is some kind of  crappy customer retention plan I tell you.  Currently looking at DISH and Verizon for my future needs.  Shame on you and this better not mess up my credit.  BEWARE OF AT&T STEALING YOUR MONEY.

its not an error if you move from uverse to directv or vice vera and your in a contract there is an early termination fee, ordering directv at a new address does not cancel uverse, you have to call and tell them you want to cancel, which im assuming you didnt. they also dont prorate so if you cancel at the beginning of the billing cycle you are still charged for the full month.

I did call them to move my Uverse service, but was told that it was not available at my new location.  I was also told that I would not be charged the early termination fee....thanks for your assuming response.

This same thing has happened to me except I could not mount a dish on my new house and was told I could switch to uverse. I have even paid my whole directv bill after the fact and they did not waive my termination fee so I have a balance in collections. They keep telling me I do not have a balance over and over again but i am still in collections!!! i dont know what else to do.

I did email the supporting documents and chat transcripts to ***** the collections agency they have my fraudulent balance with.
