Long Time Customer 20+ Years

My family has been with "AT&T" for over 20 years. First, it was Pacbell. Then SBC Global. And now, AT&T. I think after sticking with them for so long, we would get some kind of reward. We recently got U-Verse after have DSL for over 5 years. Just to find out we would have the same speed. I just hope that the connection is a lot more reliable than DSL. If not we will finally ditch and go to another ISP. We have been loyal to AT&T and imagine to my surprise, when we could not be eligible for a free tv or tablet and/or gift card, just because we have been with AT&T for plus 20 years. This is ridiculous! I would think that AT&T would try their best to keep a customer, than to seek new customers. Isn't that the reason, why you try to cancel, they transfer you to "Retention Services". Honestly, we've been somewhat happy with the service. That is why we never we left, because they kept saying U-Verse is coming and it will be faster than what you have. Well, here it is, and it isn't.

I guess I am just ranting, but I would seriously think that just because we have an account, we wouldn't be discriminate from receiving a free product of our choosing. Especially, someone who has been there for over 20 years.

Excluding a few years in other countries, I have been with AT&T most of my 69 years. For most of them there was no other telephone option.

 

I did have some problems with the complicated billing process and confusion with their own employees about the stage of changing processes. However, when I explained what I was confused about account to pay for what was supposed to be only one for three services, I got excellent response from several AT&T employees whose job was to make that response and get it corrected. Based on that, I have more respect of the AT&T operation than I ever did before. The complicated combination of different operations is not easy.

@luis_alberto Know when I got ATT Uverse HD TV/Internet more than 6 1/2 years ago, after having SBCGlobal DSL for about 7-8 years b4, I got a $200 check.

 

Now, this was a package of TV/Internet, sounds like you just got Uverse Internet, usually no rewards associated w/that. 

 

Uverse Internet/Uvoice VOIP phone package would usually get some reward. 😉

I replied to a message in the U-Verse forum. I did not indicated TV specifically.

 

I never owned a television in my entire life, nor will allow on into my house. They are full of garbage.

 

I used internet in USAF long before most people knew it existed.  It was mostly security, technical, and science. But I agree it is also now crammed with garbage and poison, and is certainly insecure without a lot of protection.

I got the u-verse voice and internet. There is no u-verse tv. I got the two bundle package.
