Protection

I want to know, why I'm being charged $13.49 for protection of a modem and home wiring? That's a wopping $161.88 per year. If these items were to stop operating properly, would you per I drop your service for at rate of $82.96 or $995.52 per year. I feel like I'm being overcharged. You want me to pay for service and your modem to use the internet, which I'm already being charged for and throw in the the phone line for with out it the phone wouldn't work. I need this fixed, because I can get a better deal elsewhere. I attempted to get this answered on 2 Aug 2016, but all I got was being placed on hold for one hour and twenty minutes and a dropped phone call the second time I called.
