Reckless Driver
Hi--yesterday morning at about 8:50am I encountered a reckless AT&T truck driver. IL plates, I believe 74 *** or possibly 24 ***; I wasn't able to get a clear look or picture. He sped through the alley on the1100 block between Winchester and Wolcott in Chicago recklessly, then on Wolcott he stopped intermittently, blocking traffic with no turn or hazard signals. After a friendly "beep beep" from me, there was no response. I tried to then squeeze by him on the left side of his truck down this one way street; he yelled a few obsceneties at me, music blasting, then sped past me, through a stop sign, and turned onto another one way street (Thomas) going the wrong direction at a pretty high speed. Definitely too fast for the school zone in addition to the whole wrong way thing. I think he saw me attempting to photograph the truck and was trying to elude it. I posted this in this forum and someone said to just file a police report and then they marked it as a solution--problem is, it hasn't been solved. What I need is a way to contact AT&T; it's impossible to reach anyone with any authority through the labrinth-like maze of corporate blockades. Does anyone know how to get through to someone at AT&T where this complaint can be registered? I appreciate the notion to file a police report, but this being Chicago, something like this isn't high on the police priority list, and I think it would be better handled internally by AT&T than farmed out to Chicago PD. I see a couple of issues:
a. You didn't get the plate number. It's rather vague.
b. You have no evidence. It's your word against the driver's.
c. Not really sure ATT has a Bad Driver Department.
Here's the thing: YOU can see someone speeding through a school zone or stop sign be it an ATT truck or Granny in her Impala. Unless a law enforcement officer sees it, there's nothing you can do about it.
It is easy to find ATTs corporate address online if you want to go that route.

In these days of smart phones with cameras so common, one CAN record the activity, and add credence to ones word. Granted, the timing has to be right, and one has to be quick to catch it on camera, but it's becomming more common.
My two cents worth, keep the change.

Correct. And that would qualify for the "law enforcement must see" evidence.
In this case, there is no proof.

I was mentining it as something to consider in the future.. was not implying he (or she) could do anything about it now.
