UVERSE used with other internet carriers
Can U Verse be used with another internet carrier? There is a major problem with the outside line a couple blocks away and we have not had internet for 3 weeks now and ATT cannot give us a date the service will be restored. Having another carrier install gateway today that runs through cable, want to know if U VERSE can be routed through this carrier.

The ATT gateway is required for UverseTV. You can have a different ISP along side the ATT gateway.
You will lose some Uverse features like On Demand, Pay per View and Stingray since those require ATT Internet.

Kind of figured U-Verse could not be used as a standalone. You said a different ISP can be used along side ATT Gateway but would lose some features? Have not been able to use ANY of the U-Verse features since the line went down? Been having to use our phones to Hotspot streaming, have used alot of DATA, about 13 gigs a day on weekends. Broke down and got another provider for internet, still dont know when ATT will have service restored.
