10 year old remote number 6 not working

I've been a customer for 10 years and one of my remotes is failing ( the #6 button ) and DTV wants to charge me $15.00 dollars for a new remote or sign me up for a protection plan........ let me see in 10 years I've never had a tech out to fix a thing........ the remote is 10 years old........ I have 4 tvs in my house we only watch 3 of them the other is in a guest bedroom that is maybe watched 5 days a year..... the math is 10 dollars a month for 120.00 dollars and DTV wants to charge me 15.00 for shipping a replacement remote...... I think not....... HELLO DISH NETWORK......... REALLY DIRECT TV FIGURE OUT WHO PAYS YOUR BILLS....... SICK AND TIRED OF THIS BULL$H@T.......

All electronic devices fail over time, some sooner than others. $15 is not much money for a remote. It would probably cost you about the same or more if you repaired it yourself. Or do you think that DTV "owes" you a free remote for being a customer for 10 years 🤷‍♂️.

Why yes as a matter of fact I do believe DTV should replace the remote for free. Being a customer for 10 yrs, paying somewhere between $13,000.00 - $15,000.00 over that time period for the use of their equipment and consumption of their product. Never being late with a payment, never calling to get a technician out to fix something maybe calling in 3-4 times in that 10 year period to reprogram a remote because I replaced a TV. The bill states they are charging me rent / monthly fee for the equipment and a price for the consumption of the product.
Again I pose the question to DTV how much do you appreciate a loyal customer, how much do you really want to provide CUSTOMER SERVICE to me?

I have been a zero cost customer other then the service I have consumed which DTV has built into that price a profit. If in a 10 year period with the aforementioned payments DTV failed to gain a profit, that will keep a customer happy then shame on them. Consumers have many options today for products so all any business has to offer is SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE.
Examples 5 gal propane tanks provided by propane company so you can consume their product. When the tank needs replacement or recertification they don’t charge me they have that built into their cost of doing business and want me to stay their loyal customer.

The electric meter on the side of my house, it’s the electric company’s meter if it fails they don’t charge me to replace it, they just replace it, it’s the cost of doing business. Trash can gets old they don’t charge me to replace it, they want to keep my business it’s their cost because I’m a 10 year loyal customer.
I guess only we old people understand customer service to loyal customer's, at the end of the P&L sheet service is where your profit will be.
