Coax to connect TV to DVR

We have Uverse DVR.  We had been connection a TV in an adjoining room with a coax cable from the DVR to the "Element" TV.  We could watch whatever is on DVR.  We had to get a new DVR due to memory/dropped program issues.  We hooked it up the same way.  The TV in the adjoining room is not receiving the signal.  Why, please??

Previous DVRs (1216, 1225, 2250 as examples) had two coax connection…

* one input from the wall for coax from gateway (HPNA)

* one output to coax on TV (standard definition)

Newer DVRs have only one coax connection which is to the wall for HPNA to gateway. The tv feed from the DVR has to be either composite, component, or HDMI.

Hello @BClaire22,
Thanks for reaching out to us! Let's work on a fix and find out what's causing this!

Newer DVRs have only one coax connection which is to the wall for HPNA to gateway. The tv feed from the DVR must be either composite, component, or HDMI.

However, there could be several reasons why your TV in the adjoining room is not receiving the signal. Here are some possible reasons:

  • The coaxial cable might be damaged or faulty. Try replacing the cable with a new one.
  • The cable outlet on the wall might not be active. Check if the outlet is working by connecting another device to it.
  • The TV might not be set to the correct input source. Make sure the TV is set to the correct input source for the coaxial cable.
  • The DVR might not be configured to output the signal to the coaxial cable. Check the DVR settings to ensure that the output is set to the coaxial cable.

We hope this information is helpful and thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!
