I called 1-888-288-2020

I thought I remembered the number by heart to move my U-verse service. I called 1-888-288-2020, and was treated very well in moving my service.

After, I realized the standard AT&T Landline number is 1-800-288-2020. The confirmation email came from “order@ecom.wireless.att-mail.com“. Can I confirm this is an authorized vendor or did I just scam myself?

The customer service number for all things AT&T is 1-800-288-2020.

You might want to do some research on the number you called or call them back and see what's going on.  Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. You confirmed what I rediscovered and I agree with your advice. It’s why I decided to go to the AT&T forums.

to share with others after additional research: An AT&T resource was able to confirm for me the user ID of the agent I spoke to was a contractor with the eCommerce division. My credit monitoring has not identified any nefarious activity.  At this point, I’ll chalk this up to an enterprising agent of AT&T.

lesson learned: I will always check my bill before thinking I know a number By heart (that I hadn’t called in years).

Hi there, did you find out anything from this?  I also accidentally called 1-888-288-2020, they asked me for my account passcode etc.  Is this a legitimate AT&T?  my brilliant self actually gave it....  I called back and ask them who they are, they say they are "auto entry partner of AT&T".

Could someone please up-report this to AT&T fraud?   seems very fishy to set up their number as 1-888-288-2020 ( almost similar to the actual AT&T 1-800-288-2020) and call them partners of AT&T.

@wangcc168  You replied to a four-year old post. It might be best if you started a new post and asked your question. That being said, it sounds phishy to me.
