New DVR stuck in update

I just connected a new DVR (VIP2262) and it said there was an update available so I started the update and it's been stuck on it for an hour now. I don't feel like it should be taking this long and there is no progress bar to know how far along it is. Can this be canceled or reset? Can I still use the dvr without the update?

Hello. What did you decide to do?

We can help you get your DVR to complete its update, Cldhrtx428.

The best place to start is with rebooting the receiver by pressing and holding the power button (located on the left side of the receiver) for 10 seconds.

Once it's back up and running, try the update again, and let us know how it went.

We'll be awaiting your reply.

So I’m having the same problem. Did you keep waiting or reboot it?

I’m having the same issue. Did the restart and running the update again. How long should it take?

I spent two hours on the phone with them, but that was due to a weird issue on my account. We waited 10 minutes and manually rebooted by holding the power button in and it worked.

The first time I did that I got an error about the box not matching my account. If it hadn’t been for that flukey thing, I would not have had to spend two hours on the phone with support. But they finally fixed it.

If it continues working then great! However, if either of you still have issues, please post a new thread specific to your issue (list symptoms, model numbers of equipment, exact error message, etc.) as this discussion ended in 2022.
