New home gateway model BGW210 vs old gateway model NVG599
I recently requested a new home gateway hoping it would improve my wifi signal. Once I compared the connections of the old and new gateways, I found that my old unit has a coaxial connection labeled "cable line". The new model gateway does not have a coaxial connection. I have three televisions throughout my home, the two upstairs in the bedrooms are physically connected to the system via coax cable lines inside the house. The DVR downstairs is connected to the system via a "phone" type plug. My question is, how do I connect the new model gateway to the internal home wiring to get the signal to the televisions upstairs?

You've run into a common problem. AT&T doesn't ship out gateways with coax ports anymore, and many U-verse TV customers have coax distribution to their TV Receivers. The simplest solution calls for you to purchase a HPNA adapter (something like https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Adapter-Network-Homes-Satellite/dp/B001RJMBZU ) and connect it to your Gateway via an Ethernet cable, and let it communicate with your TV Receivers. Another option is to replace the coax with twisted-pair Ethernet (which is difficult for any Receiver not in the same room with your Gateway, as it requires you to run the twisted-pair cabling throughout your home. You can ask AT&T to send you Wireless TV Receivers and a WAP to communicate through, but that will not work for your DVR.

There is no real difference in Wi-Fi between the 210, 599 and 5268… all three are 2.4Ghz b/g/n and 5Ghz n/ac.
All three have (4) T100/T1000 Ethernet ports for Ethernet networks.
All three support both XDSL (green port) and direct connection to fiber ONT (red port)
All three support single or dual line ATT PHONE renamed from Uverse VOIP.
The 599 and 5268 have more front panel LEDS with Broadband 1 and 2 and service light while the 210 only has 1 light making it not immediately apparent if a line on bonded pair service has a problem.
The 210 released 4th quarter 2017 does not have a coax connection is the main difference compared to the 2015 4th quarter releases of the 599 / 5268.

My gateway was deemed "bad and needs to be replaced" by support. I was sent the new gateway (without the coax connection) and now I can only watch cable on my 1 wi-fi receiver on the back porch. Is it possible to just pick up an ethernet over coax adapter at Best Buy to make the new connection?

Probably not at Best Buy, but you can order an HPNA to Ethernet adapter from Amazon (if you go this route, be sure to order HPNA adapter, not MoCA; the boxes speak HPNA on coax, not MoCA). Or you can use Powerline adapters and bridge Ethernet through your Electricity wiring; the Receivers will all work on Ethernet.
