PICTURE FREEZING
Could the reason my TV picture is freezing be that I have 16 different devices running through my NVG589 router plus home phones be the reason for the freezing. Am I asking it to do too much?

If your internet is not that fast, then I'd say yes because your TV also depends on the internet.
Turn the Wi-Fi off on all devices. If the issue remains, reboot the RG and receiver. If issue remains, the issue could be with the receiver/RG/Ethernet or COAX for wired receivers/ATT lines in the area.

U-verse TV does not, technically speaking, depend on your Internet.
However, your Internet, VOIP and IPTV do all share the same fixed-size data connection. The VOIP uses so little as to not be a factor. IPTV has a higher priority than Internet, so in theory, your Internet use should not impact your IPTV. However, if your service pair is marginal, when you're using more of it, it could cause increased errors which could show up as freezing and pixelation in your picture.
Go to http://192.168.1.254/ , click on the broadband tab, and look for a table with your sync rates, SNR, attenuation and error counts. Take a screenshot and post that in a reply so that we can take a look and advise you.

Thanks I will do that. Unfortunately I just installed a new RG yesterday so there is not a lot of info there.
I do not have everything up and running today so I am going to wait a few days and the check it.
I will respond again next week.

Good morning,
As a follow up I seem to have fixed the problem. I switched from HDMI cable to a component cable and also plugged the TV into a different circuit.
So far so good. BTW the way the picture quality is better.
