Random channels freeze and drop connection
I have the 5268AC router and the Cisco ISB7005 boxes. IPv6 is disabled. I have done a whole house reboot with mixed results. Some channels drop and go to the lost connection screen. It may not be the same channel day to day. Any ideas to fix this?

No Uverse WAP. I have the all in one unit. I'll call and get something scheduled.
Thanks and hopefully that'll solve the problem.

How are the set-top boxes connected to the 5268ac? IPv6 has nothing to do with such a problem.

@gr8sho see my thoughts post above (post 2). Apparently the 5268ac at one time supported wireless receivers via the 5268ac's 2.4 GHz connection so no WAP was required. But when the 5268ac's were updated to support band steering that screwed things up. So now everyone with wireless receivers should be using a WAP. I really like and got a chuckle out of my thoughts description "oversized pencil sharpener"
Much better than when I refer to it as "a little box connected to the gateway".

By the time I had gotten a 5268, RG wireless direct to settop wasn't mentioned. I'm guessing the OP has this but never actually confirmed.
In thinking about it more, it's really too bad the only way to distribute a wireless connection requires a WAP. Dedicated hardware. Would be more fun to have a direct connection.
Just curious, does DTV also have wireless settop boxes?

I have one box that is wired to the RG, the other two in the house are wireless. The wired box gets minimal use but I suppose I should see if it suffers from the same dropped signal next time I notice it happening on the other TVs. All my wireless is through the RG. No pencil sharpener. But how cool would it be for the WAP to sharpen pencils too.
The IPv6 thing was from another thread I saw on here. I figured I'd try it. It didn't make a lot of sense to me either but after 25 years in IT, I have seen stranger things fix a problem.

Your one wired box is your dvr. You sort of need that one!![Man Wink Man Wink](https://prod-content-care-community-cdn.sprinklr.com/d80f176d-2bd5-487b-b539-b24b3ede5ed6/communityasset-211b1ffd-057e-495d-a679-4272f8b41503-843465895)
As for the wireless boxes, how many bars of signal strength do they show on front panel? 3 is marginal, 4-5 is best.

Thanks for clarifying. So band-steering not withstanding, no WAP, and you have a connection to the 5268. Nice.
In that case then you want to have a Wi-Fi analyzer handy especially if you're using the 2.4GHz radio to make sure no interference. And probably want to peg best channel.

I would assume the 5268 would still support the wireless receivers if you disabled band steering (make the ssid's different) unless the firmware update that added band steering (a relatively recent update) removed the support for wireless receivers forcing everyone to use a WAP.
