S10-S3 Remote Quit Working

I have 2 older U-verse receivers, each one with an S10-S3 remote.  The remote for my living room receiver quit working a few moments ago.  I replaced the batteries and it still won't control the receiver.  It doesn't control the receiver in the back room either, but the back room remote controls both receivers.  I can press any button I want on the 'bad' remote, and the backlight(s) comes on.   I assume it has died.  Does AT&T do house calls for questionable remotes, or should I seek out a store to take it to, hopefully for a replacement?

Thanks.

Press menu

Then select help

Then select "remote control setup."

If that doesn't do anything, call 800-288-2020 for a replacement. Some people claim there's a fee for a replacement, but I've never been charged.

If they insist on a fee, call back.

Thanks for the help and suggestion.  When I first got U-Verse, the installer had the TV codes for the remote in his head.  I have one Sony and an LG and I had no idea what he did to set the remotes up.  The remote article you referred me to fixed me up with changing the working remote from Sony to LG.  And I will give the 800 number a call to see about getting a replacement remote for the dead one.

How do I open up an S10 remote without gouging the edges of the seams?

There should be a door on the back. In the future, please don't respond to threads older than one year, especially when the question may not be related.
