Transferring Programs from DVR to DVD or VHS
Since getting U-Verse in 2008, I have been successfully transferring some programs from the DVR to either DVD or VHS tape by means of a DVD recorder. However, since getting a wireless receiver, I get sound but no video even with programs that are not copyrighted. Does anyone know of a solution to this dilemma? I am running out of space on the DVR. Does it just plain not work with the wireless boxes, even one that has a single coaxial connector?
Secondarily, I was hoping to find an updated recorder that might be able to handle this situation, thinking mine is too old. But upon doing an internet search, all I can find are used (old) recorders of this type. It looks as though this technology is obsolete. So my question is, surely there is still a demand for this ability, so what do people use these days to transfer programs off the DVR and not lose them?

You've been backing up on DVD's? In HD? How? Using component cables I assume since HDMI has HDCP copy protection.
Look at the Hauppauge stuff. You might be able to find something useful there.
