Using Motorola VIP2500 as a wired receiver?

I have a Motorola VIP 1200 wired receiver.. I've heard this is the first generation receiver and it sometimes is slow on response time to the remote (even with it pointed directly to the IR receiver).

Just curious; would I get better response if I switched out to a VIP2500? I want to keep the wired connection, so would only use it with CAT6 cable without the WAP.

Thanks!

Maybe.  But I am not sure if you don't also replace the dvr too, say, with the VIP2250.  Updating both will definitely give you better response.

I do have the VIP 2250 receiver. I'll see if I can switch out the VIP 1200.

I do precisely that but it causes an amount of discomfort.  I must press the OK button on the VIP at just the right time for it to use the wired connection. The Product Manual doesn't mention this (#588574-002-b 04/14).
