Uverse Reciever / DVR

This afternoon, when I turned on the reciever and TV, I had no sound.  So I did a hard re-boot by pushing power button unitl the lights blinked.  The re-boot finished and I had sound, but within 5 minutes, the reciever rebooted on its own.  The reciever reboots to the Uverse On-Demand screen but within 23 seconds the reciever begins reboot.  This has gone on for the past 2 hours, I have tried the unplug 3 time routine twice, with no different results.  I have 4 U-verse recievers, 2 wired and 2 wireless, 3 are okay except the reciever with the dvr, I say this because the other recievers display "Recording list unavailable".   Help!

The sound problem seems to have cropped up more recently. I believe, it can be solved by a chan up/down to resynch the signal (should it occur again).

But, you do seem to be deeper into it. If you have tried all non-destructive avenues, you can try one that r

erases your recordings before you call for a new DVR, which also, loses recordings.

Do this on the front panel of the DVR itself, not on the remote:

1. Press and hold down the power button.
2. Within 1 second, also press and hold down the OK and down arrow buttons.
3. All 3 front panel lights (red, green, blue will come on). At this point, release the power button, but continue holding down OK and down arrow.
4. When you see a gear appear on the screen, release OK and down arrow.

The system will reload the factory software from the network. This will take 20-30 minutes, and then the system will reboot.

Hope it works for you.

Well thanks, the destructive reset, worked, the Reciever is recieving and the DVR is empty but still has all the series presets, figured wiped was total wipe, guess not.  Lost several recordings but guess that was inevitable, think ATT will rerun them just for me?

Thanks,

Dave

Look at it this way:  If you had gotten a new DVR, your recordings would've been gone anyway.  You at least saved yourself (for the moment) the hassle of getting a new DVR.

....and please, do call ATT and ask if they can rerun all of the shows that are gone and let us know what they say.  *teehee*

poptop5 - Glad to hear it worked for you. Thanks for closing the loop.

At&t did copy the shows you lost. They are on uverse.com (on-demand). Or, maybe on-demand on the TV. Or, if not there, you may be able to find them on the channel web site.

If you'd have used the Non-Destructive Disaster Recorvery first you would not have lost your recordings.  If it does not work then the Forced DR you did would be used.  I always suggest the N-D DR due to the recordings issue. 😉
