VIP2252 V2 Activation

I recently received a VIP2262 V2 to replace a defective VIP2250.  Followed all the self-setup procedure and noted that the green light illuminated indicating it is connected to the Gateway.  After the 2262 booted up it displayed this message: "This set top box does not match the account settings."  Reset the whole system by rebooting the Gateway but bot the same problem (same message). What is needed to correct this activation problem?

Need to call, the old unit has not yet been deactivated to create a slot for the new unit to fill…. Now the new DVR is “dirty” with a GUI code preventing activation.

Someone needs to remove the old unit from the list in your account, and scrub “clean” the new unit in order to work.

If a tech dispatch is required the tech will just likely replace with a DVR from their inventory if they have one.

From another thread by OP:

I received an answer from Bella098 to make a correction of my statement.  This is really getting complicated. Bella is a little confused because she/he doesn't realize that the May 1 issue was resolved.  I hope I now have the correct replacement for the 2050 and don't yet know if it is. This event is not yet resolved until the 2262 is connected and working.  See Second event below.

1.   First event:  May 1, was sent VIP1200 to replace the VIP2050.   This was the wrong replacement for a 2050.  Sent the new working VIP1200 back earlier as advised by Tony at AT&T on May 5.

2.  Second event:  May 4, was sent VIP2262 V2 to replace the VIP2050. Am assuming this is the correct set top box (DVR) to replace the 2050.  Am now having a problem getting the unit to work correctly as described in my last post. Why after booting is the message "This set top box does not match the account settings" being displayed.

No, it makes no sense to me, but here it is, kept in a single thread.

Thank you!   I am surprised that the self-install kit did not mention the necessity of changing the list of active devices.  Will go online and get the list changed,
