Cannot watch recorded programs on non-DVR receivers (2 separate TVs)

My mother records programs on a nightly basis (at least). Our new gateway (Pace 5268ac) ran an update last week on Wednesday night (around dinnertime). Ever since the receivers came back online, only the main DVR receiver can be used to watch recorded programs.

We get this error:

The recordings come up for a few seconds, then the above error, then back to the recordings, rinse and repeat. All of the recordings show up, and the scheduled recordings still appear. This happens on two different non-DVR receivers. We tried restarting the receivers and still get the error. What can I do to help remedy this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do a Whole House reboot.

Unplug the DVR

Unplug every STB.

Reboot modem or Unplug modem & Wait 20 secs. Plug back in.

Once all lights on modem are solid, plug in DVR.  Allow it to become functional.

Plug in each STB separately waiting for each to become functional

Check recordings on STB.

If what skeeterintexas suggests doesn't work, then there may be an issue with how they are all connected together.  After trying that, does it all work?  Can you watch live TV on the non-DVR receivers?  Does the DVR work completely correctly on its own (view live / record)?  How are the non-DVR receivers connected?

My mom waited a few days and everything is working fine for the moment. I'm going to keep these instructions in mind in case it happens again. Thank you so much!
