freezing momentarily quite randomly

Just had receiver replaced due to last one died.  While watching tv, the picture randomly freezes just a second or two, then continues which causes us to miss some parts of conversations and action. Restarting receiver does nothing for this. Also i noticed using att troubleshoot and resolve tool, it shows "We have detected a new receiver but it is not connected". Ummmmm, it must be, since i'm watching tv. It is supposed to be New, VIP2202V2 model. What is the deal?  Any help here?

Make sure all connections to the dvr are fully connected. Cat5 cable fully plugged in on both the tv and gateway. If connected by coax make sure the connector is tightly connected.

Unplug the gateway and dvr. Plug the gateway in and let it fully sync up (all green lights). Then plug in the dvr and let it restart. If the picture is still freezing, call in for phone support or a tech visit.

Thanks browndk26, i chatted with service tech dept today and was
suggested to do the same thing. I noticed the cat5 cable was not
"clicked" in also unplugged the gateway and let it re-sync. Oddly enough
the three dots never appeared only the "U-Verse" and rotating (loading)
circle appeared during re-start. She also siad a software update was
applied. So far no freezing has occurred. Will let you know tomorrow if
it happens again

Still freezing momentarily, seems just select channels, but could be just only ones i watch. Most likely going to need a THIRD receiver. Seems like poor quality control at manufacturer, although i have had 2 different manufacturer's receivers .
