Logging into apps with ATT credentials

I can’t log into any app using my ATT uverse credentials, I’ve tried ESPN, tbs, tnt, Starz I get not authorized or error playing video.  Doesn’t work on phone iPad smart tv or Apple TV called ATT customer service and they couldn’t help

7/24/23 - We were aware that some customers were having login difficulties over the last few days.  This has now been resolved.  Please see below for troubleshooting steps if you are still unable to login.

We understand the importance of being able to log into other apps using your AT&T Uverse credentials, @Jasonforfsu. We are here to assist.


Are you able to sign in to your AT&T account using the same credentials you are trying to use to access those apps?

We recommend resetting your password first, by following these steps:

  • Sign in with your current user ID and password.
  • Select View Profile from the Top Nav Profile at the top of the page.
  • Select Sign in Info.
  • Select Change sign in password.
  • Change your password.
  • Save changes.

After the password has been reset, please make sure you are able to access your online account using the new password, and then try to access any of those apps you mentioned.

 

Let's us know if those steps help. If you are still unable to access the apps, we can meet in a Direct Message and run some troubleshooting steps to get this resolved.

I have STARZ and Showtime as part of my UVerse subscription. I cannot log into either app on my smart TV or my iPad/phone. I am able to log into the UVerse app. I get an error message that says 1) (if I choose AT&T from their menu of providers) "Sorry, your TV provider is not supported. The new STARZ app is not currently available through your TV provider." or 2) (if I choose AT&T U-verse from the menu of providers) "No STARZ subscription found. You do not have STARZ through your TV provider. Please contact them to add STARZ to your package."

I have uninstalled all of the apps (STARZ, Showtime, and Uverse app) and reinstalled them. Is this an issue with STARZ wanting to use adobe to log in (it never was before). How can this be fixed?

You have to use your U-verse member ID, unlinked from all other accounts. Optionally use subaccount credentials.  All of this is managed in your profile on att.com.

Thanks for responding. I am using my user ID (which is my email address) when I sign in, but I only have one account (there are no other linked accounts). I don't know how using a subaccount credential would work, since it links automatically to the provider (I don't enter in the details).

We'd be happy to help you get signed in to the Starz and Showtime apps, JKo.

 

A common solution for the kind of error message you're getting is to reset the AT&T password. This refreshes the account and makes it easier to sign in to 3rd party apps. Give that a try and let us know if you were able to sign in.

Thanks for your suggestion. I changed my password, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and tried again, but I’m still getting the same error messages.

My AT&T Uverse subscription is not authenticating with live TV applications such as CNN and Turner Classic Movies. It had been workingas recently as last week (7/8/23). Has anyone else experienced this or related problems?

Hi there, TomO_1953. We understand that you are having a concern, where youa re unable to log in to channel apps with your U-Verse TV subscription. Let's look at that together.

 

For starters, let's make sure that your digital U-Verse TV account is ok. So we are going to start with an account password reset.

 

After the password reset, follow this helpful app guide:

 

Clear the app cache:

  • From your device screen, select Settings.
  • Select Apps or Application manager (this may vary by device type).
  • Select the app, then select Clear cache.

Force quite the app:

  • From your device screen, select Settings
  • Select Apps or Application manager (this may vary by device type).
  • Select the app from the list and Force stop.

Clear the app data:

  • From your device screen, select Settings.
  • Select Apps or Application manager (may vary by device type).
  • Select the app from the list, then select Storage > Clear data.

Uninstall the app:

  • Select and hold the desired app.
  • Drag the app up to Uninstall at the top of the screen, then release.
  • Select Uninstall to confirm.

Reboot the device.

 

Lastly, reinstall the app to the latest version:

  • Go to the Google Play store to download app.
  • Install latest version, then open the app.

For apple or IOS devices, please consult apple.com's help center.

Thanks so much. I logged into my AT&T Uverse account with my login tokens and everything worked properly again. I don't understand why my authentication didn't work when I logged in with my wife's login tokens as they were accepted as a valid alternate login but since my AT&T Uverse subscription is recognized again by CNN and TCM, I not delving further into the issue. Thanks for responding to me question.

I am having the same issue with several apps on Apple TV. There is no option clear app cache and clear app data on Apple TV. However I have deleted and reinstalled the apps, and still get the same error message.

I have U-verse 300 which includes STARZ. I have been able to stream STARZ on my smart tv and phone. Now I get a error saying “your TV provider is not supported”. I have followed all the instructions from a previous post and need my account synced.

Due to the nature of your concern, let's go ahead and move this conversation into a direct message. This way we can access your account to verify some details to ensure you are able to access the app. Be on the lookout for a chat notification in the upper right-hand portion of the page, next to the bell icon. Once you're there, we can continue this over the phone or in chat if you'd prefer.

 

In the meantime, try resetting the password for your U-Verse account. Doing this will re-sync your email in our system and can possibly alleviate your sign-in issues.

 

Here are the steps to take:

  1. Go to reset your password.
  2. Enter your user ID and the last name associated with your ID.
  3. Choose your verification method and follow the prompts.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password.

Been there….the Starz streaming app has been problematic in the past.  Somebody somewhere did something and all was well but apparently it’s happening again.  🤷‍♀️

Up until a few days ago I was able to login properly to this site on both my android phone & while using a windows o.s. web browser so I could watch the msnbc 'live' stream : https://www.msnbc.com/ . Now all of a sudden when I click the AT&T U-verse button in the list of providers nothing happens, previously after I clicked on the U-verse button I was taken to my at&t account credentials screen and after I saw that my account information was displaying properly I would check the 'remember me' box and be automatically logged in saw I could view the msnbc live stream. I'm wondering since U-verse is actually no longer a part of the at&t group of companies (as I understand it's now part of direct tv) users like myself no longer have access to the live stream like we used to. Does anyone know anything about this, it sounds like the parent company of msnbc is really getting greedy with who can watch certain shows on their system.

I'm having the same problem , msnbc / cnbc / CNN..........add to that ATT can't reach an agreement with local FOX so no World Cup

and can only watch the Tour De France if I pay the Peacock

I have always been able to login to various channel apps such as CBS, Bally, Fox Sports, etc. with my AT&T/Uverse account. Today when I try to access Fox Sports "Program" is not included in your TV package. Please make a new selection.

I have the Uverse 450 that includes Starz. Haven't had any problems in the pasgt. Today it doesn't work. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app, changed my AT&T account password, and still nothing.

Thanks for posting. I've escalated it up and AT&T gurus are trying to figure it out. It's not a "you" issue, as others are experiencing it.

👆. This….  I tried to log onto the app and was also unable to do so.

That Starz app is buggy.  It’s been a problem before.  Somebody did something and it was OK but now it’s back to not working.  🤷‍♀️

I’ve been using the apps for years using my same log in credentials, just started messing up yesterday so I guess there’s a problem with how ATT authenticate our log in, tried changing my password and deleting all the apps and re downloaded them, still getting same error
