need to "unzoom" picture - zoom menu choices not avail

My TV picture seems like it is zoomed in - the edges are cut off. I try clicking the Enter/Zoom button on my remote and get an Options menu, but none of the options have anything to do with the display.

I have an HD TV but do not have HD cable.

Not sure how to correct my display. Any suggestions?

Check the TV for an aspect setting. You want normal or 16:9. If it is not clear, post your TV model & I will look up the manual.

Since you have an HD TV, you should connect to it via HSMI or Component & set the aspect to 720 or 1080 to match the TV. This will work for SD viewing & allow the Zoom button to work & you can enjoy free preview of HD service over the Thanksgiving WE.

My tv is a Panasonic Viera TC-P46S30.

I'm glad there is a solution but I don't know how to "connect to it via HSMI or Component & set the aspect to" 1080. Can you point me to some instructions?

How is your TV connected now. COAX or composite (Yellow colored jack)?

Here is a link to a manual - http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/TCP46S30-panasonic-parts-PLASMA+TELEVISION-manual

The connections are explained on page 10.

Picture size is on page 45 & 50. Use the Format button to cycle through possibilities. I believe you want FULL.

On page 45 there are also HD, H1 & zoon settings that could affect the picture size.
