New Samsung TV added to Uverse account switches channels by itself

I bought a new Samsung TV and have been trying to set it up where I only use the Uverse remote, like I did with my old Vizio TV. I was able to do that but about ten minutes into watching a program, the TV leaves the channel I’m watching and starts offering me alternative programming. I have tried to reprogram the remote several times after changing setting preferences. It still happens. Please help.

 Hello @DianneL
Thanks for reaching out to us. Let's shed some light on your concern and get the help you need.

  • Check if the remote control is working properly. Replace the batteries if necessary and ensue that none of the buttons are stuck.
  • Clean the remote control to remove any dust or debris that may interfere with the infrared signal.
  •  If the issue persists, try resetting the receiver by pressing the channel button on the tv panel several times.

We also recommend that you visit the U-verse TV support to have a better understanding on your concern.

Thanks for the input. I ended up deleting the Samsung TV Plus app and the issue is resolved. It took me a while to figure it out but I appreciate your help.

It actually looks like a Samsung TV Plus feature. I need to figure out how to disable it.
