NHL Center Ice, what's included?

If I order NHL Center Ice package, does that include the NHL Network? I really need NHL Network like, yesterday....please don't make me switch back to Comcast, but I'll have to if it's not included in the NHL Center Ice package. Please advise 🙂

@jedijennie Uverse has not had the NHL channel for awhile and no prospect they will have it in the future. 😉

As Chris said earlier, "Uverse has not had the NHL channel for awhile (October 1, 2011) and no prospect they will have it in the future."

Where did you get the idea that U-Verse had the NHL Center Ice package? Did you assume this or did a salesperson give you incorrect information just to make a sale? I hope you will come back and answer my question.

My understanding is that a television provider cannot have NHL Center Ice without having the NHL Network which U-Verse does not have.

I also heard a rumor a while ago that suggested TV providers are responsible to sell X number of subscriptions to these league packages...if they don't, they foot the bill.

OTOH, the NHL sells an online equivalent of Center Ice, but I'm not sure what it's called. Just get that with a $49 Chromecast and you're good as gold. In addition, you could also watch your local team via the TV and another game via the online package on your computer.

Looks like my post was moved, sorry I just saw these.

Honestly, I don't think I saw it advertised: I just assumed all cable providers have the NHL Center Ice package as an option, I didn't know that AT&T did NOT!!!!

I just called "Sports OnDemand" and the only way in the Bay area to get NHL Center Ice is Comcast.  WHY DO THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY? Isn't that illegal???

So sounds like AT&T doesn't even offer NHL Center Ice...well ,you just lost this customer!

*calling Comcast now*

@jedijennie , I believe this is what @baseballisback was talking about:

https://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/secure/gclsignup

It's a service where you can stream out of market games, i.e. the online equivilent of Center Ice at approximately the same price.

Oh thanks - I just checked supported devices. I have a Samsung Smart TV, not a Sony! And I'm a Wii person... wow...the universe (no pun intended) really doesn't want me watching hockey! LOL

Comcast is my only option, unless I want to buy a Roku, but what's the point? Their cable package is the same as what I'm paying for UVerse anyways.

You'll see games on NBCSN 640/1640 and your regional sports network channel if there is a Hockey team in your market.

Here in metro Detroit, I get Red Wings Hockey on FSDet 737/1737 and CBET (CBC) 9/1009 that carries Hockey Night in Canada Sat nites. 😉

If you didn't see it advertised, well yeah...

The word "monopoly" is defined as "the exclusive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service." Since you're already back with C0mc@$t, it's a very safe bet that U-Verse is not a monopoly. In addition, you can get Center Ice with two satellite providers.

Also, keep in mind that "In Demand" is owned by several old-fashioned cable companies. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that when those cable companies collectively negiotiate with the leagues for sales, a single purchase of a package by any customer counts as a sale to InDemand. For example... if "CableCompany ABC" has 20 million customers, but only four million buy the baseball package, BUT if "CableCompany 123" has 100 million customers, but fifty million buy the baseball package, I wonder if InDemand all of a sudden has 54 million purchases of the baseball package.

I wonder if THAT's how they're able to sell so many packages.

AT&T would have to negotiate directly with the NHL for this package.
