No channels on Fire TV Uverse App

I installed the Uverse app on my two firesticks and do not see any channels.  I use this same app on my Kindle fire tablet, iPhone, iPad and mac (on the same home network) and see all my channels.  I subscribe to Uverse Basic, which is mostly local channels.  Is there a setting I need to change on the Fire TV app?  What's the problem and how can I correct it?

From the Home screen, select Settings. Note: You can quickly access Settings by pressing and holding the Home button on your remote or on the most recent version of the Fire TV Remote App. compatible device, and manage audio settings.
Try this if not working:
Press the Power button on the remote, wait for 10 seconds and then press it again. Alternatively, you can unplug the power cord from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
