Problems with getting an ENTIRE series recorded

My daughter is currently obsessed with "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" on the HUB Network (channel 335 in my area). I tried to set up a recording of ALL the episodes offered, so that they'll nest under a heading. That's my biggest issue -- manual/individual recordings won't be organized under a common series folder (please fix this! :D). However, I'm finding that only some of the episodes are scheduled to record. There are currently 63 episodes that COULD record, but only 18 of them are scheduled. I have it set to record all episodes, first-run and repeats, at ANY time on ANY day on the channel 335. I've deleted any straggling eps on my DVR that have already recorded, so the DVR doesn't see them as already recorded and skips them. There's no rhyme or reason (that I can see) as to why the others don't want to record. Some run in the mornings, others run in the afternoons -- I have eps at 9:30 that are scheduled to record on one day (Tuesday) but not the next (Thursday).

Any thoughts/ideas on how to fix this? We're talking multiple seasons here, so it's 60+ eps that need to be recorded and filed. 😕

You can not fix the problem of manual recordings going into the Series recorded folder.  The software is not written to do that and there have been no hints that might be coming in the future. 😉

I am having the exact same problem with recording My Little Pony. I have tried several times with different options and each time it only records one episode and never the series.  I found your post trying to come up with a solution.  Not having this issue with other shows so I am wondering if it is something with MLP only.

That is a problem w/the Series Recording on other shows too.  Only way to get them all is to manually record them unluckily. 😉

Thanks for your reply, Chris. I understand this is happening with other programs too. I could get why it happens with randomly scheduled episodes (such as marathons or specials), but when a block of shows for approximately two hours (yes, that's four episodes) occurs EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY, it makes me wonder why this isn't something that's fixable. I mean, we record "The Big Bang Theory" on TBS every night, and that program runs four episodes, back-to-back every weeknight, and never have a problem with episodes not recording. The only ones that are skipped are episodes that we already have in the TBBT folder.

Perhaps this is something to be addressed with the networks, because it makes me want to just buy the various seasons and watch it on AppleTV. Though this might seem like a win for the network, imagine all the advertisement revenue lost when we stop watching TheHUB. Food for thought ... 😕
