S30 Remote / Not Controlling the Box
The remote controls the TV but when you press a button to control the Uverse Box the power button lights up red. I have tried pointing it right at the box thinking it wasn’t reaching and that didn’t work. I reset the cable modem & wireless modem. Reprogrammed the remote, took out the batteries and put them back in. Also replaced the batteries. Had Uverse about 3 months and this has been an on again/off again issue with this box/remote.

Is the dvr or receiver you are pointing the remote at located in some kind of cabinet with glass doors that might not be letting all the IR (infra-red) to fully get through?
When you push the power button on the remote does the power light on the dvr or receiver light up? If not is your tv displaying the dvr/receiver's screen saver pictures?
Is the HDMI cable fully inserted? Have you tried using component cables instead of hdmi or at least another hdmi port? If you turn the tv off and then on again do you see the dvr/receiver? I'm fishing here for possible HDCP or other hdmi-related problems.

Having the exact same issue. New Uverse remote controls the tv but not the set top box. I have tried on all 4 set top boxes.
