Where are the other PBS/KCET channels like NHK World and Create in Los Angeles?

Where are all the other PBS/KCET channels that exists on Spectrum? I specically looking for Create and NHK World. I'm only able to find KCET on ch28  (PBS affiliate?) and KOCE on ch50 (PBS SoCal 1). On Spectrums channel directory these PBS related channels are listed as KCET-IND, KCET-NHK World, KCET LinkPlus, KTLA-ThisTV, PBS Socal Plus, PBS Socal World. I've looked all over AT&T's website and this forum and can't seem to find an answer. Someone replied to a similar question in Austin several years ago saying that U-verse doesn't carry "sub" channels which these apparently are. Is that true?? They literally don't exist anywhere on At&T?? I also currently have whatever the super duper package is just as a promo so I should have access to all the channels.

If the PBS channels you are looking for are carried as "sub" channels OTA in your area (ie: 28.2), then NO, they are not carried on Uverse.  It's a carriage rights situation and for WHATEVER reason those rights do not exist with AT&T.

My suggestion (and you're not going to like it) is to get an antenna to access those sub-channels.

It is what it is.

I don't know if it was ever confirmed, but there was a long-standing rumor that in order to carry subchannels, AT&T would have to buy specialized equipment for each market. For whatever reason (probably the cost outweighing the benefits), AT&T doesn't want to buy the equipment.

So yeah, get an antenna. It is what it is. Luckily, at least in my area, 99.9% stuff of interest is on the main channels or another channel.

FWIW att does carry NHK World.  It's on 1221 and 1379 (so you need the HD package), well at least until next month!

Thanks for all the replies. This cements my decision. I'm also noticing how there are endless advertising channels. All the PBS channels came in the most basic cheapest package with Spectrum. All those PBS channels and some HBO, MSNBC, VICE is basically all I watch. Looks like Spectrum's gonna be buying out my contact with AT&T. 😞

It never fails to amaze me when people move to a new city they do their research on where to live, what schools to attend, what neighborhoods to go to or avoid, what grocery stores to shop at, etc.

...but when it comes to U-Verse, they believe the first thing the salesman says.

If the AT&T rep stated "all your channels you currently get plus SpiceTV and every NFL game in 4k for $1 total" someone would post here claiming they are switching back because it wasn't such a good deal and they didn't realize that... because they didn't do their research.
