Call Blocking For Seniors

I am looking for a call blocking service or feature for my 90 yr old parent's phones.  They get scammers, con-men, posers, and other unsavory people preying on them daily.  Ridiculous!   Is there something out there, or a feature on their phone or through their provider (ATT) that is useful?

That depends on what phone she has and what service she is using. Keep in mind you are on the wireless/cell phone forum, so anything I mention is available for cellular services.

If she is on your cell phone plan you can add the parental control feature which limits the number of calls going in and out to a particular line on your plan. As far as I know this limit extends to both smart phones and dumb phones.    It is a subscription service, it’s not something I use.  I believe it’s called secure family.

Most smart phones and even some dumb phones have a do not disturb function. This function can be set to ‘on with exceptions for: contact list’.     This can be problematic if she gets calls from a doctor, nurse, or dentist who does not use the same phone number that is in her contact list.

The experience of everyone seems to be that any of the applications that supposedly Block Telemarketer’s, Robocaller‘s, and spoof calls do not work very well.

Thank you so much for that.  I'll look into it.  We had thought about changing their number and then putting only us (immediate family) in the phone and restricting calls to just Us.  You are right, if they get a Dr call, it may not go through.
