Have International Day Pass. How do I call UK numbers from within the UK?

I am traveling to the UK & will be using my US phone.  What do I have to dial to get in touch with UK friends?  Do I dial he local UK number only, or do I need to use all the International dialling codes for the UK. I have already signed up for the International Day Pass.
