Insurance deductibles

Reading the TOS for the mobile insurance, there seems to be two deductibles, a repair and a replacement.

Does that mean just want it says? If my S8+ screen cracks and it is repaired, it'll cost me $89. If I lose the same phone my deductible is $225?

Is that repair deductible the same for any "repair" done to the phone? Charging port, etc.?

Thanks!

The $89 screen repair is not available on all phones.  The list should be on the page.  The newest models cannot be replaced with the $89 insurance option.

So on a newer device if you were to drop and crack the screen after say 5
months, you'd end up paying roughly $270?

That price coincidentally is about the same Samsung charges to repair your
phone if you send it in to them.

Something to consider I guess.

It should be $225 deductible for the first 6 months.   They replace the phone.

I was taking into consideration the monthly cost of the plan at $8.99.

I see.  I don't count that, but yes, after 2 years you would have paid over $200 in premiums and have to pay $112 for deductible and you get an identicle 2 year old, refurbished phone.

Not my choice, I don't use insurance.

I recommend a good case, and screen protector.  Mine don't get activated until they are protected.  It's they only "insurance" I use.   Given our track record of only one broken, one lost, and one chewed by a puppy in 20 years, I risk it.

Same here. In fact I told the guy at the store to not handle the device!
Not using it until my case and screen protector comes in. Never have had
insurance and have never broke a phone. Just my luck this new S8+ will be
the first!
