Next Plan Help! Can I swap upgrade with another line on the account?

I have a question regarding the Next Plan (which I wish I never signed up for!)...My phone (Samsung S5) is on the ATT Next Plan.  I am about 9 months into the plan.  My son broke his phone yesterday and cannot use it (he is not a Next Plan user).  I would like to give him my phone and buy an iphone 6plus.  I am wondering if it is possible to do this.  I can't find anywhere where it says whether or not I can transfer this plan to him.  We are all on the same ATT account.

Is his line eligible for an upgrade?  If yes, then you can get the iPhone under his line and switch phone.

No you dont.  If you are on a family shared plan 10GB or greater, the NEXT program will be cheaper in the long run though.  Also will only need to pay the sales tax on the phone upfront, instead of the $200 or so for the 2 yr contract.

We do have an upgrade available but I don't think its on either one of the two lines in question.  Can we use that upgrade?

If the upgrade is available on any lines on your plan, then you can upgrade that one and switch phones.

Sorry, I am not.  Just a regular customer like you.  I just have done the same thing before.
