Potential Issues Porting Mobile Number Out of ATT and then Back to ATT

Hello,

I was not able to get a clear answer from customer service. Would anything prevent me from porting a mobile number, on a shared family plan, out of ATT for a period of time and then back to ATT. The family plan will remain active.

1) Is there a time limit? If the ATT mobile number is ported out of ATT for less than or more than 90 days, does that make a difference in terms of ability to port it back in to ATT?

2) Cancelled line: When the number is ported out of ATT, we can either keep that ported-out ATT mobile line active with a new ATT phone number, or it will be automatically cancelled otherwise. Will this make a difference -- i.e. keeping the line active, or letting it be cancelled -when trying to port the number back in?

Customer service could not answer the questions and just directed me to the website. I don't see any information there however. Thank you for your help!

1) That would be dependent on the new carrier's policies. Most likely there isn't any sort of timeframe.

2) When a number on a family plan is ported out, the other line(s) remain unchanged. If the port-out number was primary, the system will make one of the other lines primary. The line associated with the port-out number will be canceled.
